Summary
Laccase-catalytic oxidation of urushiol and its analoglues have been investigated in various aqueous solutions of ethanol.Alkyl substituted pyrocatechol will favor the enzymatic oxidation.The results suggest that the reaction consists of formation of yellow quinoses and then coupling of them to produce polypheny phenols.
