Structural analysis of the components of Chinese lacquer ・Kuro-urushi

" The urushiol components in Chinese laquer “Kuro-urusi”,which was processed by treeating Chinese Raw Urushi(“KI-urushi”) with Fe(OH)2,were isolated by reversed-phase liquid chromatogrphy.A new component which was not present in “Ki-urushi”,was found.Structural analysis using H NMR and mass spectrometry showed theat the component is a regioselectively formed water adduct of the original urushiol component,i.e.,3-(11'E,13'Z-8'-hydroxypentadecadienyl)catechol."
